How To Set Up Currencies In Magento 2? (10 minutes)

In this Magento 2 tutorial, we will show you several steps of currencies configuration in Magento 2 (including defining the accepted currencies and displayed ones).

HOW TO SET UP CURRENCIES IN MAGENTO 2?

  • Step 1: Go the admin panel, navigate to STORES and choose Configuration (under Settings)

Expand the GENERAL field (on the left) and select Currency Setup in the dropdown.

  • Step 2: Set up Currency Options

Firstly, you must choose the Base Currency applied for all online payment transactions.

Secondly, you must set the default currency (for pricing) displayed in your store.

Thirdly, you must select a/ several currencies accepted to make payment in your store. (if you want to choose multiple currencies, hold down the Ctrl key and select one by one)

Fourth, save the config.

  • Step 3: Set up Connection Timeout

Narrow the Currency Options and expand the WebserviceX.

Enter the number of seconds of connection timeout.

  • Step 4: Complete Scheduled import Settings

Narrow the WebserviceX and expand the Scheduled Import Settings.

Firstly, set Yes for Enabled to update the currency rates automatically,

Secondly, select your rate provider in Service.

Thirdly, set specific Start Time that the currency rates will be updated.

Fourthly, set Frequency of updating the currency rates (Daily/ Weekly/ Monthly)

Fifthly, add email address of your staff who will get notification when there is errors on the import process.

Sixthly, select email sender and email template as well.

Finally, save the config.

  • Step 5: Set base currency scope

In the left menu, expand the CATALOG field (under GENERAL) and select Catalog in the dropdown.

Next, expand the Price section, choose Catalog Price Scope to Global or Website.

  • Step 6: Refresh cache

After accomplishing all settings, you must flush cache (click on the Cache management link).
