Challenges for Tigren in This Magento Migration Case Study
The Magento migration from 1 to 2 presented several challenges.
One major issue was the website design. The existing design lacked appeal, so simply cloning it wasn’t an option. However, creating a new theme from scratch was impractical due to the store owner’s limited time and budget.
Additionally, the Magento 1 site heavily relied on over 30 third-party extensions, making the migration complex. Transferring these to Magento 2 risked causing numerous conflicts with the new extensions.
Another significant challenge was the extensive database that needed to be migrated from the old store to Magento 2, adding further complexity to the project.
Solutions for Sinsation Cosmetics’s Magento Migration Project
To deal with the above challenges, we suggested some solutions:
Regards the website design, we recommended Sinsation Cosmetics apply a ready-made theme for Magento 2, which helped them to save a lot of time and money.
More specifically, we spent time researching and finding a list of beautiful templates for the cosmetics industry with high-quality code for the owner to choose from.
Then, we installed and configured the selected theme on the new site. Also, our job included changing banners, favicon, logo, font, colors, and minor customization as their requests.
For the Magento extension migration, we suggested the firm review thoroughly their list and remove unnecessary modules. Then, we helped them to find similar Magento 2 extensions for their new store.
As we mentioned before, since there were a lot of plugins, code conflicts are avoidable. Therefore, what we needed to do included module installation, configuration, and conflict solving.
Moreover, for some certain modules, we had to migrate their data to Magento 2 as well as customize how they presented on the storefront.

After completing the migration to Magento 2, we met all of the requirements and expectations at the beginning. The Magento 2 storefront looks beautiful and elegant which makes products stand out.
Moreover, the page speed is fast with significant user experience improvement. Apart from it, Magento 2 back-end is less “technical”, very user-friendly, and easier to use than Magento 1’s.
